Trip Summary

When the winds blow, we have to make tough decisions on the dock before the customers show up. The winds constantly change directions down here. We have a big estuary and lots of places the fish can hide. (We flip a coin most days and hope it works out ?) All was good this morning with Wes and Michelle. Winds were up 20+ mph out of the southeast. We decided to hit the hopedale side to let bayou terraboufe be a wind blocker for us. It Paid Off Big Time!!! Our first 2 spots yielded nothing. Our 3rd spot yielded a few throwback trout and hard heads. Now im scratching my head and reconsidering my decisions. But on the 4th spot, we picked up 3 slots redfish, and now i have hope. As i got further back into the pond, i noticed the water cleaning up. We found a point with good moving water and plenty of bait popping around. IT WAS ON!!! We ended up getting their limit of redfish in about an hour or so. We caught and released a few then headed home. They had a blast and so did I. Cant wait to see them next time.
