Amazing day with locals today! Possible girls Olympic softball for the Philippines! Dad being retired Navy was an honor to enjoy the day with this amazing family. Mom was the coolest and a hard nose fisherman for sure!
Slow start with a lethargic tide but we got a ton of huge hits and a few mangrove snapper to start. In 2.5 ft of water mom caught a juvenile goliath grouper that put up a great fight(was safely released).
Then the ladies showed up lol! We had a small sea turtle hit a bait and got everyone’s attention. ( she was safely realsed) We moved a few spots north to find the tide just slacked off and not much water flow in the backwaters.
All in all the customers went through 7 dozen shrimp and had a good time around south Saint Augustine!
