Here’s a quick “What’s Biting” report for Sarasota Bay this March: Snook – Biting well, especially around docks and mangroves on warmer days. Night fishing around lighted docks has been productive too. Redfish – Active on shallow grass flats and mangrove shorelines. Best action during high tides, with some holding in potholes during low tides. Trout – Plenty of action on deep grass flats, with bigger trout showing up in the shallows early in the morning. Mackerel & More – Spanish and king mackerel are heating up in the coastal gulf, along with cobia and tripletail near buoys and floating structures.
