Very professional crew. We caught several fish, including; 3 MahiMahi, 1 Yellowfin Tuna, 2 Bonita and almost a Marlin that chewed the line. We felt safe at all times and felt the cost was reasonable. Would certainly use this outfit in the future

We went on a 5 hour trip first week in April.

Bait was included in the trip.  Stopped at the bait/fuel dock.  Captain got off the boat and then back on.  Returned with no bait.  There was none in the bait well.  Motored out past where we fished and were told we needed to buy bait for $30.  We did.  Were told we would be refunded $20 for the bait included in the trip.  We weren’t. 

Rods and reel were limited and pretty rough.  Captain and mate threw bait/chum and then baited hooks.  Trouble was, three guys on the charter and only two lines set at any time.  We watched them hook fish and then hand us the rod to reel them in.  Didn’t hook many, so we basically sat around waiting and watching them fish.  Also, (and this was the most frustrating), they would chum and then motor off after a few minutes while the fish were hitting the chum they just set!  Made no sense.  We told the captain we knew how to fish (we’re from Michigan and have been on charters).  Didn’t matter - watched them fish for us.  We watched boats 30 yards away double up while our crew tossed out the bait and hit nothing…and then moved off what fish were around! 

We did catch four Spanish mackerel on rods rigged with at least 50 lb braid/mono.  Not much of a fight against a four pound fish.  Mate spent a bunch of time on his phone and not fishing.

In summary; gear was wrong, participation was not offered, overall effort by crew was low and fishing skill was poor.  Would not recommend this charter.

Fished on this boat before in Dec. 2019 with great success, but this time no fish. This Captain will reply to this and say it fishing, not catching, but what they don’t understand is we pay for catching. Their experience on where to troll, what bait/lures and distance from boat to set the line is all on the crew. I wouldn’t say this trips dreck deck hand had much experience and if he did, he didn’t show it. Seemed to do everything in slow motion with no true confidence. I brought my wife and her mother this time and asked if we could simply maybe hook a Bonita which is effortless in the Sea of Cortez, and couldn’t even get that. So take this review for what it is… either these guys aren’t good at catching fish anymore, or the Sea of Cortez has been emptied by constant overfishing.
