My wife, son, and I had a day booked with Cpt Cole.  We arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled meeting time to find him sitting on his boat in the water ready to go.  He was great from the start and had us all comfortable and excited for the day.  Cpt Cole is very knowledgeable of the area and explained what the plan was and why.  There was a small unfortunate equipment snafu mid morning that was no fault of his.  This small incident could have killed the day and definitely a lesser Cpt’s attitude.  I must admit, this is what sold me even more on Cpt Cole.  He kept calm and his great attitude to keep the day going and keep us on the fish.  Cpt Cole proved resourceful and positive.  I was truly impressed with how hard he worked to keep our one day chance of fishing the space coast a great experience.  Fishing was slow that day, but each of us landed fish and had multiple hook ups that we just didn’t get done.  Cpt Cole was great to talk with and made the day more enjoyable.  If you’re looking for a great day on the water with an opportunity at multiple fish and species, with a guy who will bust his back to get you there, Southern Mayhem Charters is for you!  I hope I get the opportunity to fish with Cpt Cole again!  I will definitely consider visiting this area again, just so we can fish with him.

On a girls’ trip, my friend booked a fishing charter. I don’t fish. But I do like boats so I went along. When we got there I warned Captain Cole about our group’s diversity in outdoor sporting enthusiasm.

He was awesome! It felt like spending the afternoon with another friend. He was patient and attentive when I hooked limbs, docks and everything but a fish. When I did catch one he was on the spot taking my fish off the hook and getting new bait. He stopped so we could see a manatee and pointed out different wildlife sharing fun facts about the area. Conversation was entertaining the entire time.

And for my friend who booked the trip… she is all about trying new things and very hands on. Captain Cole taught her how to cast the net for bait. He showed her how to hold the fish she caught so she didn’t get cut and then how to clean it when we got back to the dock. (I was too busy watching the sunset to pay attention.)

Overall a great experience! Highly recommend for any skill level.

We had a wonderful time with Captain Cole. We were supposed to go near shore fishing but the weather and water conditions weren’t right for it so he had a backup plan and knew right where to take us. We all caught at least one fish. Captain Cole knew what fish we would catch in each area we went to and how to catch them. We got to see pelicans, manatees and even had dolphins stealing the bait off of my son’s line. When we got back to the dock Captain Cole filleted the fish extremely quick and put them right in ice for us to take home and even recommended what to season them with when we cooked them. We had a great time and would definitely do this again.

Cole was very knowledgeable, courteous, and personable.  A very good day on the water catching fish and seeing the local inland waters and wildlife.  We had a pair of dolphins with us almost the whole day!

Great day fishing. We caught every species of fish we had hoped to. Even hooked and landed two Tarpon. Captain Cole is very knowledgeable about the fish in the area and the tactics used to catch them. Would love to do this trip again.
