Brandon was our guide for the day.  Well prepared and very experienced on the Kenai.  He was very nice and gave great instruction of how to fish the lures we were using and the proper method of landing fish. My cousin, who had never fished, was up on me 4-0.  She caught 2 Dolly’s, a Chinook (got away) and a really nice Sockeye.  Finally, Brandon put me on a honey hole and I landed two very nice Dolly’s at around 20” each, to end the day.  Nice fighters.  Overall a great experience... My wife and I along with another couple went on a 4 hour float down the upper kenai river for rainbow trout. Our group landed 6 total fish, including a dolly varden and a tomato (sockeye salmon). Our captain Brandon was the definition of a professional. Even after explaining the fishing has been slow, he still made it happen. I recommend anyone who’s eager to catch fish without committing to a full 8 hours- book this trip. Better yet, just book the 8 hours. You wont regret it!

From the first view of the Kenai Lake and river I knew this was one of the most beautiful places on earth. Our guides, Brandon and Owen were so knowledgeable about the water conditions and the best places to fish. Their continual guidance on fishing techniques and lure selection was always spot on. Would highly recommend the 8 hour drift trip to anyone with any fishing experience.

Matt our guide was exceptional with us. He taught my brother in law how to fly fish and he caught the first fish. As well as all the fish that the 3 of us caught. We also saw great scenery as well as wildlife. We were all laughing throughout the whole trip. It was just a great relaxed trip with knowledgeable guide Matt! My next trip to Alaska will in clued another trip with JJ and Matt.

Matt got us on a huge Dolly Varden off the bat, and then heavy rainbows again and again. This was my first time fly fishing, and Matt quickly taught me the ropes to start reeling them in. The boat is plenty big, and we stopped at several great spots. Highly recommend and I’d go again!
