We had a great time fishing with Captain Juan! Best fishing trip ever!

Excellent day of fishing. These guys put us on the fish and were very cool to spend the day with. Would highly recommend. Caught a 9’ marlin, Tuna, and Mahi Mahi.

This was our first experience fishing in Cabo and will be our last.  While we looked at the fishing charts before be booked we really needed to focus on going in months that the fishing is plentiful. November isn’t one of them. 

Unfortunately this is the 3rd fishing trip in a row that didn’t yield the fun and catching Mahi Mahi or Marlin that we hoped. (Prior 2 were in Vallarta)

And Yes we call It Fishing because it is hunting for schools of fish in a big ocean. 

For the 3 Rooster fish we caught the family did enjoy that experience,  and we ate it last night at the Fish Grill.  The Chef did a nice job putting together 3 different dishes for us. 

We can’t predict the weather or ocean, but even having taken Dramamine we were all sick with 4’ swells (my guess).  It was 2hrs each way to get to where we started fishing.

Captain did a great job working the seas looking for fish and he did finally find a Marlin. 

That too was very exciting as we hunted it down and tried to catch it.  But after a 1/2 hour of maneuvering and casting live bait at it, we could see if just wasn’t hungry. 

The kids said never again and I️ agree.  We aren’t typically here when the fish are “in season” and sad this was our last attempt.

I️ would also note that not being familiar with the Marina or this website, we struggled finding parking and then finding the boat.  Even with a map.  It’s too bad the website manages communication with the captain and we had no way to reach him to ask for help.  (The website forces you to log in to send messages and at 5am in the morning I️ didnt recall what my ID and password was for the website. This was super frustrating and they need to fix that in My opinion)

I️ don’t recommend the trip because the seas were rough and we spend 7 of 8 hours getting to the spots and maybe 1 hr fishing.

It’s not that I️ dont Recommend Blue Tail, it’s the fishing. The expectation was so high and read the above.  It could have been on any boat.

Awesome accommodations! Had his crew member meet us where taxis dropped us off and escorted us to the boat at 6am. Great equipment, clean and roomy boat, and very friendly staff! Would book again in a heartbeat!

Juan and his team were true professionals and did a spectacular job. It was my first time to Cabo and my first time catching a marlin. I’ll definitely be back, and will be booking with Juan! Thanks again for a great day.
