Every April, I look forward to my annual haddock trip with Capt. Pat, a tradition that consistently delivers both a great experience and an impressive catch. He fillets the fish for us and bags them up, so they are ready to cook as soon as we get home.

Given the variable ocean conditions early in the season, trips are not always available for immediate booking. For those interested in targeting haddock this time of year, it’s best to reach out in advance with your availability. Capt. Pat closely monitors the marine forecast and coordinates trips accordingly to ensure the safest and most productive outings.

This year’s trip was another success, with haddock up to 28”, along with cod, cusk, and redfish. A well executed day on the water and a reminder of why this trip remains a highlight each season.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a family fishing charter out of Boston Harbor with Captain Patrick Keith, and it was an unforgettable adventure! We had an amazing day on the water with Captain Patrick. Right from the start, he put us on the fish – my son landed a “keeper” cod almost immediately, and from there the action was nonstop. Patrick went above and beyond to make the trip enjoyable, even showing patience and kindness when my son felt a little seasick from the rougher seas. He handled everything with professionalism and a great attitude, and at the end of the day, he even filleted our catch for us. Don’t hesitate to book with Patrick – he’s not only an excellent captain, but also a genuinely good guy.

Captain Pat was super easy to work with. We were supposed to fish on Saturday night but the weather did not cooperate. We rescheduled to Monday night and I am glad we did.

We booked a 4 hour night trip and caught a dozen fish with not one under 32’’ with a few 40’’ fish in the mix.

Pat’s boat was in excellent condition with plenty of room for our group of four adults. Bait and tackle were all of great quality.

We had a great trip. My only regret is that we couldn’t fish longer!
