Just be aware…
The captain does not have his own boat and therefore you are the mercy of the boat rental company. Also make sure the captain checks the gas levels before departing. We ran out of gas on the way back in. I would think a captain would check this before we went out, but I guess since we were getting going 1.5 hour late due to the boat not arriving on time it must of been overlooked. Either way, I would make sure the captain takes the extra 5 minutes to check this before you head out on the water. Unfortunately for these 2 things I can’t recommend Captain Charlie. But hopefully he gets his boat back soon & is able to start taking customers out on the water. He was pleasant and cooperative with our crew who had a couple of folks that were not handling the waves very well. We pivoted from being off the Atlantic side to on the Gulf side to help with that, which I was super thankful for. I think it was also a blessing we did this considering we ran out of gas on the Gulf side closer to the marina. All I could think about is if we ran out 5 miles from shore on the Atlantic what a disaster that could have been.
I’m sorry it was a disappointment for you and your family and yes, I’m going through a transition time between either getting a New Boat or getting my mine fixed so I’ve partnered up with the Boat Rental company just recently to keep my clients happy it’s a bigger boat and in better condition, but all boats have peculiarities unfortunately I can’t control the weather and because it wasn’t my boat. there are a few things that need to get figured out i.e. especially the fuel. again, I’m sorry if you had a bad day I tried to do everything to make it comfortable for you
