My wife and I were vacationing in the Orange Beach area and had booked with Southern Sun prior to arrival. Southern Sun's site perked our interest, and we were not disappointed. Captain Charlie is awesome, and he is very knowledgeable about where the best fishing spots are in the Orange Beach area. Captain Charlie's fishing excursions are very personable and instructional on how to best fish the Gulf waters. My wife and I were taken to spots known for Redfish and Speckled/White Trout and given instruction on the best methods of catching the fish. Trout were the fish of the day on our outing. The Redfish were present but not receptive to being caught. My wife and I had an awesome time with Captain Charlie, and we will definitely book with him again the next time we are in the Orange Beach area. Thanks Captain Charlie for an awesome time on the water! You're the best!

Captain Charlie put us on some big donkey red snapper! He was very accommodating for our family. He allowed us to use some of our own hand-tied hair jigs to hook into some different species. And he was mindful of our sea-sick prone family members to keep us comfortable during our trip. We will look at booking with Captain Charlie on Southern Sun again next time we visit Orange Beach!

Went out with Justin on 4/10 and he was very helpful with baiting the hook, casting to where we hoped the fish were, and general knowledge. He had great patience no matter how many shrimp flew off the hook. We were only able to bring in one red drum but had a great morning. They were also mindful of weather and reached out to reschedule when the waves were going to be rough on our original day.

Was a very good trip we got the pleasure of having captain gil as our captain was very understanding and easy to work with explained everything you needed to know and some cool facts we went about 1/2 mile to 1 mile off the coast and caught 2 6ft+ spinner sharks would personally recommend to anyone with that little kick in to go fishing and want a challenge

We booked a three hour fishing tour with Southern Sun on 5/14/26. Justin, our Captain, was very professional, knowledgeable, patient and fun! We caught over thirty fish.
