We had an absolutely incredible experience with Stolat Fishing Charters and Capt. Paul and mate Paul!
We were two dads taking our four kids, ages 3–10, out for the day while the wives enjoyed a well-deserved kid-free day. We honestly weren’t sure how four young kids would do on a fishing charter, but Paul and Paul absolutely knocked it out of the park.
After about a 25-minute ride out of the harbor, the lines went in and we were immediately on fish. What followed was about 2.5 hours of almost nonstop action. We had four lines out and at times were fighting three fish at once. The kids were absolutely ecstatic.
What impressed us most, though, was how great they were with the kids. Paul, the mate, didn’t just help them reel fish in — he took the time to actually teach them how to fight the fish, work the rod, and then even let them hand-line the fish the rest of the way into the boat. He was patient, encouraging, and made sure every one of the kids was involved and having fun.
By the end of our four-hour trip, we had landed 92 fish — 90 Spanish mackerel and 2 bluefish. More importantly, four kids walked off that boat absolutely thrilled and with a fishing story they’ll probably be telling for a long time.
Capt. Paul and Paul exceeded every expectation we had. If you’re looking for a charter in the Outer Banks, especially if you’re bringing kids, we couldn’t recommend Stolat Fishing Charters enough. We’ll absolutely be back!
