  We were almost immediately on the Cobia. First one was a bit short so tag and release. The next 2 were big and went in the box. One more short one for me and then other boats started to take notice. They came from every direction and surrounded our fishing hole. Captain didn’t miss a beat. Motored out of the chaos and immediately put us on another big fish. 4 hours doesn’t seem long enough for the fun we were having. See you next year!

  **⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Day on the Water with Captain Melvin!** Yesterday our family had an amazing trip with Captain Melvin of Fintimidator Sportfishing LLC! For the past few years, I've made it a Christmas tradition to give my dad a fishing charter as his Christmas gift. It's become something our family looks forward to each year because it gives us the opportunity to spend quality time together and make lasting memories. Our previous captain out of Norfolk wasn't available this year, so after reading all the wonderful reviews on FishingBooker, I decided to book with Fintimidator—and I'm so glad I did! We booked a trip targeting Sheepshead. Captain Melvin was waiting for us at Wallace Bait & Tackle when we arrived and immediately made us feel welcome. From the moment we stepped on the boat, he was friendly, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He kept everyone engaged throughout the trip, sharing information about the fish we were targeting, local birds, marine life, and even the Chesapeake Bay impact crater. It made the trip educational as well as enjoyable. Unfortunately, the fish just weren't cooperating that day. (The Toadfish seemed to be the only ones eager to bite!) We did manage to bring home a nice Tog, and Captain Melvin never stopped working to put us on fish. At one point, he did everything he could to try to get us hooked up with a Cobia. Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans, but you could tell he was giving 100% from start to finish. One thing we especially appreciated was that Captain Melvin didn't spend the whole trip up on the flybridge. He stayed engaged with us, answered questions, shared stories, and made sure everyone was having a great time. We love a captain who enjoys interacting with his guests, and that made the experience even more memorable. We'll absolutely be booking with Captain Melvin again—hopefully later this year, but if not, definitely next year! If you're thinking about booking a trip, I highly recommend reaching out to Captain Melvin through his Facebook page beforehand. Let him know what species you're hoping to catch and when you're planning to fish.   Awesome First Charter

  Sunset fishing on July 2, 2026 • 2 adults

  This was my wife and I’s first time chartering a boat and going saltwater fishing and it couldn’t have gone better. Captain Melvin put us on fish right away, and we caught a bunch of spot, croaker, and whiting. He was even able to help us land a cobia, and a couple sandbar sharks. This being our first time, Captain Melvin did a great job setting us up and making us feel comfortable on the water. He capped it all off by cleaning some of the fish we’d landed and giving me advice on the best way to cook them. I’d highly recommend this trip. We will be sure to be back for another trip in the future.

  First fishing trip ever — an unforgettable experience!

  The experience was truly unforgettable. The captain was very friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. We caught quite a few fish, which we shared at the end of the trip. We gave them to a couple of American friends, and it was a real pleasure. My son even caught a stingray, which we carefully released back into the water. The whole family had a wonderful time and was full of joy throughout the trip. We would happily do it again and highly recommend this experience!

  First trip, I will be coming back

  Easy to book and make changes, Cpt Melvin kept the whole group engaged (I brought my 7yo). Went to a few different spots in the bay each spot was productive. I really wanted to catch a whiting/mullet, my girlfriend and I both caught one. Even pulled up a crab pot that was choked full of crabs and he explained how to Best prepare those, I can’t wait to have our own caught “low country” boil for supper tonight.
