Perfect Day on the Water

2 Hour Trip – Mackerel - 4:00 PM4 adults

my family and I booked a fishing excursion on the Lucy B with Captain Chris. We did the two hour mackerel fishing trip at 4 PM. The weather was absolutely perfect. Chris shared a lot of history about the area, the forts, the lighthouses. Unfortunately, the fish were not biting, but it was certainly not due to lack of effort on Captain Chris’s part. He moved his numerous times trying to find where the school of mackerel may be. We just happen to be right at low tide, which apparently often impacts fishing. My son was a little disappointed, not to have caught anything, but it’s called fishing not catching… I think two hours was the perfect amount of time. Would definitely do again!

    Captain Chris is Great

    4 Hour Trip – Stripers • 2 adults

    Captain Chris was a wonderful captain. He knows the area, what’s biting, and he’ll let you know and give options to meet you where you’re at depending on what experience you’re looking for. We booked a 2h trip and a 4h trip over 2 days. Both were great. The 2h trip went quick, but we caught fish and my son had a great time. The next day we did a mix of hauling lobster traps and mackerel jigging. Both were productive and educational. We pivoted and tried different techniques at his recommendation with success. It was great! Chris was great. I’d definitely book with him again next time I’m in Portland!

    Awesome time!

    Captain chris met us at the boat with a great friendly attitude. He explained how the fishing had been, not great lately, and gave us options to rebook or give it a shot. It was a perfect day on the water so we gave it a shot and Captain Chris did his best to put it over fish and despite it being a really poor fishing day, we did manage to pull in a few mackerel, which was a lot of fun. We then scooted over to do some bottom Fishing and unfortunately struck out, but again he told us stories and gave us some navigation highlights as we went to the fishing spot, and was super great with the kids and very patient overall. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend Captain Chris and the Lucy B !

    July Lobster & Mackerel Fishing

    4 Hour Combo – Lobster & Mackerel • 2 adults

    We had the greatest pleasure to do a 4hr Lobster & Mackerel Charter with Capt Chris! From the moment we stepped out of our car Chris was ready to go! He was so much fun, shared everything he knew about the islands and the areas we were fishing. We started off slow but Chris knew when to reel in and hit another. We ended the trip with two dozen Mackerel. It was truly a blast. We went to all five of his lobster cages and were able to keep 3 based on their sizes! It was a great way to start our morning and highly recommend to anyone. CHRIS WAS THE BEST!!!

    great trip

    I chartered the Lucy B today, and we had an absolutely fantastic fishing trip! Captain Chris was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and worked hard to make sure everyone had a great time. His experience and enthusiasm made the day even more enjoyable, and he made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped aboard. It was a fun, memorable day on the water, and we couldn’t have asked for a better captain. If you’re looking for a great fishing charter, I highly recommend Captain Chris and the Lucy B. We can’t wait to come back for another trip!

    A great trip with the family!

    4 Hour Combo – Lobster & Mackerel • 5 adults • 2 children

    Captain Chris was great! Very informative on the area with great details of the surrounding structures and sights. He got us right on to fish and taught us all about lobstering. The traps were loaded! But unfortunately for us they were all just a bit shy of legal size. Still fun to see, to learn from him and even got to help him out some. Only because I wanted to! I’m one of those guys who love to be hands on! If ever in the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate a bit to book with him again! Beautiful boat too!! Even neater since he had rebuilt it himself over the years!
