Trophy Fish & Mahi Mahi
We booked a shared charter, which saved costs, however we rotated turns to reel in catches. DJ was our mate and was phenomenal, he had 4-6 lines going at all times. We did a 3/4 day charter, two of us then 4 others also were booked. everyome was friendly and we all felt ownership of all the catches (although DJ really did most of the work). We split the edible fish amongst parties that wanted some, and although only 2 mahi keepers, it was enough for everyone to have a small meal (which we’ll tske to one of many restaurants that will gril it for us). We rotated turns reeling, i had one decent fish then a dud. We got a few mahi mahi, two non-keepers and two keepers. i know many trips come back unfruitful to no fault of captain or mate, we ended up the best boat out there with mahi & a trophy sailfish. another group brought a full cooler with drinks and food, we brought snacks, a few drinks and suscreen, boat had waters on ice for us.
