  We all caught our limit of red snapper and one of my sons caught a vermilion snapper. The crew was awesome, very attentive and on point. We had booked with another boat that cancelled on us because they were “afraid of the weather.” I’m glad they did. The Huntress was much bigger and better at handling the swell and not very much more. We had three young teens with us and the crew catered to them every step of the way. We tried several different tactics and locations until we found the fish. All-in-all it was a great comfortable trip and I would highly recommend to anyone.

  Great time, new experiences

  8 Hour Trip on July 11, 2026 • 6 adults

  We had a great time overall and really enjoyed the experience. The weather and rough seas made for a slower ride than expected, so we ended up spending more time traveling than fishing. We understand that’s simply part of offshore fishing and not something anyone can control. The catch wasn’t what we had hoped for, as we mainly caught red snapper, although they were a good size. We were hoping to target a little more variety, but that’s fishing you never know exactly what the day will bring. The boat was very comfortable, and the spacious cabin made the longer runs much more enjoyable. There’s definitely a tradeoff between having a larger, more comfortable boat and the speed of getting to the fishing grounds, but we appreciated having a nice place to relax during the ride. The biggest positive was Captain Jeff. He was outstandingly friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and worked hard the entire trip to put us on fish and make sure everyone was having a good time. He was always happy to answer questions, lend a hand, and kept the atmosphere fun from start to finish. Thanks again, Captain Jeff, for a memorable day on the water. We’d be happy to fish with you again and hope for calmer seas and a few more species next time!

  Having worked many as a deckhand, I found this crew to be truly dedicated to lookinf after the folks on board and going above and beyond, compared to other crews I have been around on the Texas coast. Yes, my standards are high, going back to the way I was raised going by the golden rule, treat people the same way that you would want to be treated. Being an NCO in the U.S.Army during the Viet Nam Era helps a person to develop higher standards.

  Rocky start but absolutely amazing finish!

  The day got a late start but Jeff was incredible. They put us on snapper pretty quick and then we started chasing Ling/Cobia. At our request they kept us moving until we found them and boy did we find them. My wife finally caught her big Cobia that she been been chasing for 3 years. The boat crew is passionate about fishing and made sure that we had a great day. And best of all. They listen. Few captains listen to our requests without complaining that they know what is best. While this is likely true, no one likes to be dismissed. Great job Jeff and crew. Rob was also great to work with and were looking forward to our next trip. Thanks guys!
