We did the half day excursion and had a great time.  We were fishing for rockfish and caught 24 keepers between the 4 of us. We ended up with around 15 pounds of fillets in ziplocks prepared by our guide.  Our guide was well informed and was constantly baiting hooks and removing catch.  We got the expirence we had hoped for.

Shout out for Capt. Bobby and Pelican Fishing. Met Bobby at the gate, boat is fully geared & ready to go. Quick safety talk then we planned the day - what was our prior experience and our goals for the day, quick stop at the bait barge then off. Beautiful sunrise thru the fog, followed a pod of porpoise then crossed a pod of whales. No hits on surface fish so we headed to 9 Mile Bank in calm seas. Bobby had us on rockfish from the start, worked with each of us to improve personal fishing skills, cleared any gear issues while keeping us all with lines in the water, bagging catch and rebaiting on the fly. Big job filleting today!
