Well, this is a classic case of no good deed goes un-punished. several good deeds in this instance.This charter was booked for a young girl’s birthday party/present for as many as 14 participants. The day of the charter our brand new, 2020 model, 40 foot catamaran was canceled by another group. This being our best boat and wanting to put our best foot forward I called Mr. Barreiro and requested he come to our second mooring facility, two blocks from the original site.
When his group of 11 passengers showed up, we greeted and escorted them to the boat. The vessel and charter party of 11 departed the dock and went fishing for an previously agreed upon 4 hour charter. The captain began the trip by trolling and caught several king mackerel up to 20 pounds. After king fishing the boat was moved to a known grouper and snapper location. The big fish were not biting so the captain kept moving to different locations but the bigger fish were hard to come by. The kids did catch a lot of small fish and had a great time.

The captain extended the charter by 30 minutes, at no additional cost, before heading back to the dock. I met the boat at the dock and asked the captain to only charge the charter party for 10 people instead of the 11 that showed up. I then went and chatted with the father who chartered the boat and several of the party and at no time was any unhappiness or dissatisfaction expressed. Quite the contrary, the birthday girl was excited and said she had a great time. The father took his fish, shook hands and paid the captain before giving the mate a $300.00 gratuity.

We up-graded this party’s boat to a brand new one, extended the length of the trip trip by 30 minutes, discounted the charter rate by $100.00. Everyone expressed satisfaction, to me, with the trip’s outcome. Had we known in advance the wanted big fish we would have tailored the trip towards him instead of his young daughter and her friends.

The reviewer is so ridiculous in his review that he gave our brand new $400,000 charter boat only two stars. This boat is by far the best and nicest offshore charter boat currently operating in Naples and will rate 5 Stars with any objective reviewer.

I guess the credo ” No good deed goes un-punished” holds true at least with this reviewer. We still appreciate the business and, challenge the reviewer to find a Naples charter boat that can provide him with a better 1/2 day deep sea fishing charter.
