Captain James and his charter was absolutely amazing! Great hospitality and great knowledge of different fish species and where to find them. Just a laid back guy but still highly professional. 10/10 would definitely book with him again if we ever make it back to Destin.

We had a 6 hour trip with Captain James in early November. Not exactly known as a great fishing season. James came prepared and had us on fish immediately! Even if our first few got taken by sharks. With Amberjack and snapper out of season, we were very limited with what we could keep but still brought home some meat. We would definitely book with Apex again!

Well, the old term of “that’s why they call it fishing and not catching” held true today. We went out for the 9 hour trip and had an extremely slow bite. Some fish were landed but the action was few and far between. HOWEVER, Captain was absolutely fantastic and gave 110% effort. He took us to multiple spots, caught lots of bait, remained calm and patient, and tried every trick in the book to get us on biting fish. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone.

Thanks for a great review. We definitely had to earn every fish. Very slow bite the first half of the day with the bite a little better towards the end. You guys were patient and did not mind hitting alot of different spots looking for that better bite. I give you alot of credit. Hopefully we can rebook in the future with cleaner water and a better bite. Captain James

It was the first time my new bride had ever been fishing. She almost didn’t go because she was afraid of getting sea sick and all kinds of other fears but at the last minute she decided to go. The boat was so nice and smooth and Captain James paid special attention to her knowing she had zero experience. She LOVED it. Nothing but smiles. She caught a couple of bonita and three red snappers. Just a great experience for all. We will definitely book with him next time we are here.

My group of three had a great six hour plus fishing outing with James Scott on 6/7/23. The weather was excellent, and Captain James put us on the fish! The only downside was that we caught over 15 red snapper that were out of season; however, it was fun catching the red fish and a couple of nice amber jack as well. It was a fun trip out with your group. It is always a bummer to be this close to the opening of red snapper season to not be able to keep the tasty reds. We had a great fish total, lots of releases and enough keeps for a good dinner. Definitely need to come back during red snapper season and limit out. Captain James Scott

We had good weather and a great time. We were a party of 4 half who had never been offshore fishing. Despite being harassed by Dolphins and later sharks Captain Scott put us on some fish. The highlight of the day was watching one of our new fishermen catch an 80lb Amberjack followed by the other first timer catching one weighing in around 60lbs. Lots of Red Snapper and a couple varieties we could keep. All in all a good day fishing.

I had a great time with your goup. The amberjacks did not disappoint. I loved to watch people fight huge fish for the first time. Great memories. The dolphins and sharks were cool to watch feet from the boat but did limit our catch totals. Still we put some good numbers up for the day. Hope to see you again on your next trip down.
