follow-up to the captains response to my review
Captain Mike responded to my initial review. He stated he offered me a refund numerous times during the trip. (THAT IS A BULL FACED LIE. NOT ONCE WAS A REFUND MENTIONED AT ANY TIME). I got off the boat. He said "sorry" and handed me his business card!) My wife asked me how many did you catch? I shook my head. She asked again. Then said you didn't catch 1 fish in 7.5hrs!? I said no. She said the captain wouldn't even look in her direction. I couldn't even stand up to even drop the bait overboard without falling. I understand he can't control the weather but he's the captain and if he looks at the weather report for the conditions he should have canceled the trip that morning. Precisely why there wasn't 1 boat out on the water on our way out. Oh 50+ miles covered out on the water? That just proves my point even more that we shouldn't have been out there. (My initial review) Captain Mike was a nice guy and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we had very rough water for 90% of the 7.5 hr trip and unfortunately I did not catch any fish. As I was the only fisherman. It was quite a expensive day at $650 and not catch anything. My wife bought the trip for me for our anniversary. She also gave a $100 tip prior to arrival to the area. In NY, charters guarantee atleast 1 fish or they refund the trip or atleast offer another trip at no charge. I understand that's why they call it fishing but damn didn't seem fair to charge the full shot.
