Captain Nelson went above and beyond for us! He took time to explain everything and made sure my boys had the experience of a lifetime. Hopefully we will fish with him again in future!
My son wanted to catch a shark, Captain Nelson put us in a place where we could possibly find fish and shark. After a run in with a pod of spotted Atlantic dolphins, We had 2 possible sharks come off the hook, but then we had a solid run and it ended up, after a 30 min battle, we got the first color of what was about a 9 to 10ft Hammerhead. My 15yo son was living his dream in catching it and getting it to the boat. Would recommend this charter to anyone.
Had an amazing 6-hour ocean fishing trip with Captain Nelson. Our trip started with nearshore trolling and concluded with bottom fishing offshore - both experiences were excellent. Nelson's extensive knowledge of the local waters and his friendly nature truly enhanced the trip. We were also fortunate to observe an abundance of marine life, including lots of dolphins and a magnificent leatherback sea turtle. Everyone in our party had a great experience. Highly recommend for an unforgettable ocean fishing journey.
Captain Nelson is awesome!!! My family and went bottom fishing for the first time and we had a great time. My wife got sea sick but the captain made sure she was okay and gave her tips on how to combat sea sickness. We caught good ones but unfortunately couldn’t keep them since they were out of season. Captain Nelson was very informative and helpful with the whole trip. We’ll be booking again in the very near future with Black Dog charters.
I don't think a minute went by without a fish on the line. I had plenty of fish to take home as well as hooking onto others; snappers, grouper, shark and a handful of others. If we weren't getting lucky for our target species at one spot the captain would cruise on over to the next. Had a great time and would go out again.
