My son and I just did a fishing adventure with Sandy River Guide Service, and it was nothing short of perfect. Not only did we both catch some impressive keepers, but the experience was educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Our guide was exceptional—more than just putting us on the fish, he shared his expert insights, teaching us the finer points of fishing and enhancing our skills as outdoorsmen.

The whole trip was well-organized, enjoyable, and truly memorable. Everything went smoothly, and because of the fantastic experience, we are already planning our next trip with Sandy River Guide Service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for not just a fishing trip, but a comprehensive learning experience on the water!

Sunny and warm. Clear, low water. Even in tough fishing conditions we still hooked into a nice one! Captain Barry is like Master Yoda. His infinite knowledge and wisdom of Steelhead and Salmon are like his mydoclorin count….off the charts. You will learn a lot. You will leave a better angler AND a better person. Barry is passionate about what he does. He works hard and exhausts all options while batting Mother Nature, the River, water levels, temperature, etc. Be prepared to have a trip that you will always remember no matter who you bring with you! 11 out of 10 stars!!!!!!

Barry’s a great guide. He really knows this river, and all about fishing for salmon there. He’s also a great instructor. We are newbies and needed lots of instruction. He coached us continuously through the entire trip, and was always patient and encouraging through all our newbie mistakes. He knows where to find the fish. We got a lot of bites. It was only our lack of skill that caused us to lose a few. But after several hours on the river with his instruction we improved enough to finally catch one! It was a very enjoyable day. I would definitely go out with him again.

Totally enjoyed our trip down the river.  Learned a lot about fishing Barry worked very hard to make our trip a success For me, it was very relaxing and enjoyable to be away from work and just enjoy the river.  Hope to try this again.

We spent the day on the Sandy river with Captain Barry Buckland who was just fantastic. Angler fishing with spinners, bobbers, and other techniques which resulted in some catches! Barry was extremely experienced, professional, and generous throughout the trip. He taught all sorts of angler techniques and allowed us to fish hard. He provided lunch, beverages, and all gear/rods/bait etc. we could’ve wanted. He even prepared our catches at the end to take home. Great experience, will book again!
