Amazing morning fishing with Shawry

Half Day Trip – Coastal Reef (AM)5 adults3 children

We highly recommend this charter. Captain Shawry was excellent. He helped our very novice family to catch a huge number of fish. We caught enough to have a very filling fish dinner that evening and my 9 year old son even reeled in a shark, which I’m sure he will never forget. Shawry was excellent, keeping our hooks baited, and helping the kids, teaching them how to fish. He was able to teach the kids about the fish we reeled in and especially about the shark. His boat was immaculately clean and of the 4 hour charter there was only a short time travelling and plenty of time fishing. Leaving the jetty at 7 I had reeled in the first fish, a barracuda! before 7:30. We will absolutely be booking another trip with Shawry next tome we come to Port Douglas.

    Great morning fishing

    Half Day Trip – Coastal Reef (AM) • 4 adults

    Due to poor weather, we stayed in the local estuary rather than heading out, which we were gratefull for. We had a great time. We caught fish inc GT, dusky cod, flathead, lots of Bream and even a damn eel. Saw a couple of crocs. Shawry was a great skipper and guide. Great with the kids and super helpful. Highly recomend Hook Up for your next fishing adventure in PD.

    This is the best trip I have ever had. I would rate it as a 10/10.

    As soon as we met the captain, we felt comfortable. He was so calm and very friendly. He gave us a briefing on safety and the area where we were going to fish. We caught multiple different species of fish including a shark. The water was a little bit choppy, but i expected that in an open ocean. The captain is so knowledgeable about the sea and with the fishing techniques. He is also kind enough to hook up baits for us. Once again thank you so much for giving us such an incredible time out on the water and for being patience.

    Awesome Trip

    Full Day Outer Reef Private • 3 adults

    Great day out with my 2 sons, first time on the outer reef. Shawry was excellent, put us in the right spots at the right times and helped us with his knowledge and expertise all day. Caught a good variety and good size Coral Trout and Emperor’s for tea. Thanks Shawry, can’t wait for the next trip.

    Half Day Trip – Coastal Share 11:30 • 2 adults

    Fantastic day on the river with Shawry. It was my partners first time fishing and between us we pulled in some good size bream and a puffer. Shawry was very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. I’d recommend this charter for anyone looking for a small group session. We will 100% return for another trip!

    3/4 Day Trip – Coastal Reef Private • 5 adults

    I had my son and two sons in law with me and had a great experience on the ocean and river system. The conversation with an experienced salty who knows people nearly as well as his fishing knowledge is worth the time on its own. We were aware the conditions were not great but the Skipper worked hard for us. If anyone is thinking about fishing this part of Australia Hooked Up is the perfect family charter to use.
