Unfortunately we did not catch a fish this trip but Captain Nuno, Robert, and Joseph were the best crew we could have asked for! It was clear they were doing everything they could to help us catch one, but just wasn’t in the cards for this trip. We did get to see some amazing whales and dolphins up close at sunset. As beautiful as Madeira is by land, seeing it from the water on Capt. Nuno’s gorgeous boat is even more glorious. Capt. Nuno is a magnanimous spirit and an incredible host— As is his first mate Joseph. Catching a fish would have been great, but my husband and I are experienced anglers and know that sometimes the fish simply aren’t biting in spite of noble efforts. We got four fish. All keepers. Everything went as well as anybody could ever want.  Our hotel cooked them up into basically a Michelin star dinner and it was amazing.  Really enjoyed it.

I’m not an experienced sea fisherman but the guys, boat, rods tackle, all looked really good. Never caught a fish but that’s probably normal for big game fishing.
