Efficient- had our fishing license within minutes & were under way. Great boat! Everything in it’s place & very tidy. Knowledgeable about Wanaka & the lake… also, willing to share the info. Great guidance & patience- (trolling Wanaka very different than fly fishing in the Rockies). Awesome chefs- grilled 1 of our freshly caught trouts & prepared 1 to-go for us to cook in our condo that evening. Great multitaskers- landed 2 large trout, cleaned them while grilling... More

Fabulous morning. Gino was a fabulous guide, knowledgeable about the area and the fishing. We even had our fresh trout cooked up on the BBQ. Delicious! I would highly recommend Gino as a guide and the fishing experience that is provided. Great value for money and totally worth the early morning start. Thank you, we will definitely do next time we are in Wanaka.

janvier 2020. Super matinée de pêche avec des paysages magnifiques et près d’une dizaine de truites qui ont mordues !! Le capitaine connait vraiment bien les spots et donne de précieux conseils. Un BBQ sur le bateau permet de cuire votre truite en dégustation ! Un régal.

The captain was very knowledgable and you can tell he is very passionate about fishing as he takes it very seriously. He brought us to his fishing ‘paradise’ and we managed to catch 4 fishes - 2 rainbow trout and 2 brown trout! We also learnt a lot about how to catch trout in the lake. Hi Estelle, thanks for your review. We are glad you had a lovely time fishing with us. Just to address a few points from your review; It is clearly stated on our bookings that licence costs are not included in the price of the trip. It is not a hidden cost, but licence costs vary from group to group depending on a number of factors and often change each year so it is something we need to calculate afterwards depending on when the trip goes ahead and who is on it. We also spoke about the licences over the phone before the trip went ahead and this was explained. The day you went out the conditions were very technical and required a lot of directional changes, meaning that if we had a third line in the water the chances of the lines getting caught together would be very high. I am sorry if you felt cheated in that aspect, but two lines were the best choice for that situation and everyone still got to have a go fishing and land a fish each. If you had brought this up with our captain onboard he would have happily explained to you the reason why. There is always tea and coffee and snacks available onboard, so maybe there was a miscommunication between you and the captain in that aspect, in which case I apologise. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels and have a wonderful holiday.
