We recently went on a charter with Captain Ken and had a great experience. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked hard to make sure we caught fish before the trip was over. He took us to multiple spots and gave helpful tips on technique that made the trip even better. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fisherman, I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Ken. Great atmosphere, great guide, and an overall awesome experience.

This fishing excursion was absolutely remarkable. I appreciate Brad‘s professionalism even before I arrived with quickly answering some of the questions I had as a first time Michigan salmon fisherman. It was beautiful to get the boat out there while the stars were still in the in the sky, and we had a great spot where there was little to no maneuvering despite there being so many boats out at peak season. Brad was very patient and pointed out so many things to educate us and give us the fullest experience; I even leaned to tie a polymer knot. We walked away with eight fish and a total of 45 pounds of perfectly filleted fish which was a service he also included. We just cooked the fish a simple pan fry manner and it had wonderful flavor and texture, more steakier like swordfish. We cannot wait to make this an annual experience.

Brad is AWESOME. SUPER punctual, professional and knowledgeable. I had been on a bad luck streak since I started trying to catch king salmon over a year ago never landing one. Thought I brought my bad luck with me after loosing one early in the morning and struggling to get a bite for a while but Brad was on top of it! Trying different baits depths and locations he seemed determined to help me break my bad luck streak and hard work paid off I finally landed one! After fishing he showed me how to clean it and bagged it for us! I had a great time would DEFINITELY recommend booking a trip with this company!
Brad and Manistee River Fishing Company are top notch! Brad worked hard to get us on fish all morning and to make sure we had great trip out. Caught some nice walley on Long Lake and great memories with my 13 year old son. Brad is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and determined to catch fish. If you are looking for a guide…I highly recommend.

This fishing trip was a wonderful experience on the beautiful Manistee River. The weather was great, the boat was clean and the gear was well maintained. I also want to commend the Captain on his awesome personality and problem solving skills. This guy know where the fish were. It was also a great experience to see so many fish in their natural habitat and to be educated on the spawning process. Again, this trip was great, the value for what we paid was great and I would do it again.
Guiding to me is more than just putting people on the fish. At an early age, I realized that I had a true passion for the water and nature. I knew that I wanted to do a job that I would love going to every day. When I looked further into becoming a fishing guide I knew this was what I was meant to do. Waking up every day to take people fishing is the greatest thing ever. I get to enjoy the great outdoors with so many wonderful people day after day. I get to help them make sense of this crazy thing called fishing. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people smile because they either just caught a fish of a lifetime or they're simply enjoying their time on the water. That's why I do what I do. I have an extensive background in all fishing areas, from fly fishing to spin and drift. Knowing all of these different techniques helps me in helping you to become a better angler.
