Sligo Sportfishing – Sligo II
Based out of Point Pleasant, Sligo Sportfishing is your ticket to a memorable time on the water.
Come on aboard with Capt. Anthony and Capt. KC, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, popping, and spinning, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 5 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Flounder, Bass, Bluefish, Seabass, Tuna, and Common Ling, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.
You’ll be fishing from a 40’ Willis Beal boat with enough room for up to 6 anglers at any single time. It also includes a toilet, AC, and ice-box. Possibly one of the only charter boats in the NJ area with a Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizer.
When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain so you don’t have to worry about it. You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.
There will be a first mate on board to help you with anything you need. Tips for good service are always appreciated. Children (5 and up) are welcome aboard so you’re good to get the young ones started early.

4 Hour inshore fishing
We caught Fluke and Sea Bass!
I spent my high school summers in the early 1980s fishing out of Point Pleasant Beach on my dad's boat. This summer I brought my wife, 2 grown children, my daughter's boyfriend, and my brother-in-law to share with them the experiences I had growing up, and the Sligo II did not disappoint. I did miss the captain's name (oops) but he did a fantastic job throughout the morning putting us on top of the fish. The first strike was within 5 minutes of dropping the first hook into the water. Over the next 4 hours, we continued to hook fish, both fluke and sea bass. He'd reposition the boat to ensure we were always well placed. Most of the fish we caught were below the legal limit to keep, so they were returned to the water, but we did manage to catch 3 that were above the limit - they weren't the biggest fish, but they were delicious. The first mate was also very attentive, quick to step in and assist as necessary. My only suggestion is when families are onboard, do a quick check of whether anyone wants pictures when they catch a fish, even the small ones, before putting them back (maybe not every fish, but at the first one for each person). All in all an enjoyable time for us all - met my every expectation. Thank you!

Fathers Day Family fishing trip
We did a 5-hour fishing trip as a Fathers Day present for my husband and our family of 5 had a great time. The weather wasn’t the best so we decided to stay in the bay, and we are very glad we did, as we watched other boats go out to the ocean and came right back in shaking their heads. Anthony & KC were excellent, giving us instruction, helping us out when needed and finding us spots and trolling so we could catch fluke and blue fish. We highly recommend Sligo of Point Pleasant, NJ

3/4 Day Trip – Striped Bass
Another Wonderful Trip on Sligo II
Based on a great trip on Sligo II last November, we booked it again around the same time. The weather was kind of gloomy and it rained the previous night. We all thought it might not turn out as good as the last trip. The weather turned out to be beautiful by mid morning and we were catching keepers up to three at a time on trolling rigs. We limited out by 10:30 AM so catch and release afterwards. Captain KC and first mate Sean were great. Worked very hard to get us on fish and were lots of fun to deal with. We have already decided to book Sligo II again next November. Thank you for the great time!

If your thinking about booking a trip with them, READ THIS: You never know what to expect on a new boat with a new crew, but when I tell you it’s going to be worth every penny I’m not lying. I don’t want to hype them up too much or y’all will take all the open spots with them, but in all seriousness they are the perfect combination of laid back vibes, but serious enough to have a great day and catch tons of fish. I’ll be going back for sure, so if you’re on the fence just book it… or I will lol ✊🏼 KC and his mate Nick were SUPER knowledgeable, I was taking notes all day in between catching huge stripers 🐟

Our group was from 7 years old to 80. We had a great time, caught many fish, 8 were over regulation length. They did everything from set up, to putting on bait, talking off the fish and the cleaned them for us. Would recommend.
