Based out of Point Pleasant, Sligo Sportfishing is your ticket to a memorable time on the water.
Come on aboard with Capt. Anthony and Capt. KC, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, popping, and spinning, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 5 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Flounder, Bass, Bluefish, Seabass, Tuna, and Common Ling, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.
You’ll be fishing from a 40’ Willis Beal boat with enough room for up to 6 anglers at any single time. It also includes a toilet, AC, and ice-box. Possibly one of the only charter boats in the NJ area with a Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizer.
When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain so you don’t have to worry about it. You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.
There will be a first mate on board to help you with anything you need. Tips for good service are always appreciated. Children (5 and up) are welcome aboard so you’re good to get the young ones started early.

We caught Fluke and Sea Bass!

I spent my high school summers in the early 1980s fishing out of Point Pleasant Beach on my dad's boat. This summer I brought my wife, 2 grown children, my daughter's boyfriend, and my brother-in-law to share with them the experiences I had growing up, and the Sligo II did not disappoint. I did miss the captain's name (oops) but he did a fantastic job throughout the morning putting us on top of the fish. The first strike was within 5 minutes of dropping the first hook into the water. Over the next 4 hours, we continued to hook fish, both fluke and sea bass. He'd reposition the boat to ensure we were always well placed. Most of the fish we caught were below the legal limit to keep, so they were returned to the water, but we did manage to catch 3 that were above the limit - they weren't the biggest fish, but they were delicious. The first mate was also very attentive, quick to step in and assist as necessary. My only suggestion is when families are onboard, do a quick check of whether anyone wants pictures when they catch a fish, even the small ones, before putting them back (maybe not every fish, but at the first one for each person). All in all an enjoyable time for us all - met my every expectation. Thank you!

Bryan, funny enough i have mentioned the photo thing to the guys before. At this point in the season throwing back short fish becomes muscle memory and they can forget at times. Never be shy about mentioning that in the future! Most time's we do our best to do as we are instructed. Thanks for coming out! And we hope to take you guys out in the future.

Sweet ass trip
Full Day Trip – Striped Bass on November 15, 2025 • 6 adults
Phenomenal trip on the water today, got into keeper stripers and a few overs. KC is an extremely knowledgeable captain and taught me many things over the 8 hour time span. Anthony is also a great teacher on and off the boat which is more than a young fishing crew can ask for. Super cool charismatic guys that know what the hell they’re doing ! Highly recommend fishing on the Sligo II , they play music that will knock your socks off one minute & will also ease your soul a song later. Thanks again for the great trip gents it was a pleasure

great trip with an unexpected surprise
3/4 Day Trip – Striped Bass on November 24, 2025 • 6 adults
Landed a number of striper before we hooked a bluefin tuna in the 250-300 range. fought the bluefin for over 1 hour before we all decided to end the fight. we had many clear shots to gaff or dart, but it is not in season so we were trying to remove the hook.
Kudos to the crew for their knots and well kept equipment. A Penn 16 reel with 60 pound test managed. and thanks for Paul taking some turns as no way i could fight that fish along. amazing day and great job by the crew.

Fathers Day Family fishing trip

We did a 5-hour fishing trip as a Fathers Day present for my husband and our family of 5 had a great time. The weather wasn’t the best so we decided to stay in the bay, and we are very glad we did, as we watched other boats go out to the ocean and came right back in shaking their heads. Anthony & KC were excellent, giving us instruction, helping us out when needed and finding us spots and trolling so we could catch fluke and blue fish. We highly recommend Sligo of Point Pleasant, NJ

Kasey and Nick were very hospitable and their expertise helped our family of 5 anglers bring in a variety of fish all morning and even some keepers to fill out plates for dinner! A great day with great music and memories made.
