Lake Michigan waters are known for world class sportfishing of Chinook and Coho Salmon, Lake Trout, Steelhead and Brown Trout! We troll for them using lightweight tackle utilizing various techniques to get the lures in front of the fish.
Capt. Mike welcomes children aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! There are 2 Type I children's life jackets on board at all times. These are extremely safe, but very uncomfortable and cumbersome. Bringing a more comfortable life vest is highly recommended.
Your fishing machine for the day is a 27 foot Tiara Pursuit 2700 fishing boat which is licensed for 6 passengers. It comes with all the gear needed for a successful day of fishing!
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a Michigan Fishing License for everyone ages 17 and up in your group. These are available online.
It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Smoking is permitted. Your captain does not smoke.

After a slow start Captain Mike Made adjustments and ended the day with a good recovery. Mike found his fish control button (inside joke). Had a nice double and some nice fish. Had a great time getting my son on his first Ludington salmon. Kings and Coho.

I grew up in a fishing family. My dad liked to creek fish for Trout. That was too buggy and brushy for me, so I always stuck to fishing with my grandpa on the open water. I was an elementary teacher and when I became a principal, I moved to Manistee, Michigan, located on the shore of Lake Michigan. Once I was there, I caught the big water bug and couldn't stop!
