Based out of Richmond, Addictive Sport Fishing is your ticket to a memorable time on the water.
Capt. John aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after! Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, and jigging. You’re looking at 5 to 10-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish, Lingcod, Sturgeon, and Shark, depending on the weather and time of year.
You’ll be fishing from Jane’s Addiction, a 30’ Grady White boat with enough room for up to 6 anglers at any single time. It also includes a toilet and an ice box.
The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water. Fishing licenses aren’t included, so make sure to get them prior to the trip.
You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.
There will be a first mate on board to help you with anything you need. Tips for good service are always appreciated.

One of the best boats I've booked in the bay area. Knowledgeable, safe, entertaining, and accommodating to your fishing needs. Captain John's experience is evident in his preparation, explanation, and guidance. We all had multiple opportunities to bring in fish from the minute we dropped anchor. I would encourage any family with kids or less experienced anglers to book from a guide like him for a more memorable trip. Great trip
Full Day Bay Trip on August 17, 2025 • 3 adults
This was my second trip with Captain John and it was again a great trip. I booked this trip for my son that wanted to catch shark. Captain John took us out and within a couple of minutes of getting out to our first stop, my son was reeling in his first leopard shark. We ended up catch a ton of 7 gill sharks, a couple of leopard sharks, and a couple of sand sharks. It was a great experience and I look forward to going back out with Captain John.

This was the perfect trip to go on! The group was three adults and two 5 year olds. Captain John and his crew not only knew where the fish were biting, but knew how to make the whole experience magical for the kiddos. The boat was immaculate. You know when you go on boats and everything looks clean, but then you go to the bathroom and it’s smelly and gross. Well that was the opposite of this experience. Not only was the boat immaculate, but the bathroom was spotless. That may seem like a random thing to comment on, but if you have kids, well you know how important it is.
So we spent the day fishing with a great captain and his first mate.

Did you know we have 200lb sturgeon in the SF Delta? Yeah, me neither. That was until I booked a charter with Capt. John and Addictive Sports Fishing. He got us on the fish and gave us a once in a lifetime experience…catching a 200lb Sturgeon! Great boat, quality gear, and Capt. John know where the fish are. What more can you ask! will definitely book another trip with these guys. Amazing time and value!

Half day with my kids!

Great fishing day! Capt’n John went the extra mile and took us out of the bay to catch Halibut & Stripped Bass! My kids who are 7 and 5 had an awesome time. we all got our limit of halibut and a bonus stripped. We then came back very happy to cook our fish at home.
The boat is great and in great shape. There is no water or food aboard so be sure to BYO. Ofcourse John will remind you of that.
