If you're going to cast a line in Cape Town, look no further than Outrageous Fishing. Your guide for the day is Captain Byron, offering years of knowledge and experience.

These waters are known for Black Bream, Skipjack, Geelbek (Cape Salmon), Kob, Pike, Squid, Albacore Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail Amberjack, and more – with any luck, you'll have tight lines in no time. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Don't forget to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!

Your trip begins aboard a 28' Butt Cat catamaran with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

A few items to bring include sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Outrageous Fishing will make it easy for you to go fishing in Cape Town. So, how about booking that trip?

Full Day Tuna trip with Capt Byron and crew Monique, Marius and Francois
Full Day Trip – Offshore on April 13, 2025

What a GREAT day out we had. Four fine young men and two old farts taken ten miles out from Cape Point into the shipping lanes where within an hour we were hooking up on 20kg Yellow Fin. Wonderful weather and water conditions made for a perfect combination with good luck and Byron's great knowledge of the waters and the whereabouts of the fish. I've fished the Kenya coast and never had such a bountiful catch. The boat and equipment is all tip-top and worked well for a group of six rods with the crew functioning like a well oiled machine. I have never seen game fish dispatched so quickly and humanely and bled and field dressed so efficiently. Collecting half the catch the following day which the crew had organised the processing of we have 24 massive, sushi grade fillets to share with friends and family as the best kind of culinary souvenir of a first class day on the water. Many thanks to Skipper Byron and the excellent crew of El Capitan. Have no doubt if you book this boat you will be in the hands of professionals and if the fish are out there, they will do their best to find 'em!

Good evening Jake Thanks for your kind words. It was an absolute honour to have you and your boys onboard yesterday. We really enjoyed watching the young lads catching their first Tuna. We look forward to having you all join us again in the near future for the giant yellowfin tuna Yours in fishing Byron and Monique

Response from Charter operator

Good evening Antony. We appreciate your comment and and the opportunity to respond to the review. 1. I am not sure why you would say that that vessel has 2/5 rating. The vessel was renovated last year and has the latest Garmin equipment on board Secondly, the cost of the trip is advertised here on Fishing Booker, with the species of fish that are targeted. You were aware of the possible target species. This was also relayed to you via messages. I did inform you that the weather was not suitable to fish from Simonstown due to the weather, and also due to the fact that yesterday morning it was announced publicly that the SA Navy was going to be doing shooting exercises and was therefore not able to fish where we wanted to. I also informed you that the water was very cold yesterday and that there was no pelagics in the area, and that our skipper Marius was going to target reef fish, which you caught a good few Cape Bream and Jacopever. So I am not sure why you would say that the fishing is expensive, considering that we have charged the rates as advertised here on Fishing Booker. I have got a record of all of our discussion with the exact information that was relayed to you. You had the option to decline the trip, if you weren't happy with the vessel this morning on arrival We hope you will enjoy the rest of your vacation here in South Africa and travel safely Yours in fishing Byron Ashington
