Hallock's Grace Charters is a family owned and operated business. Trips depart from their private location in Shady Side, Maryland where you can bring your family aboard for a hands-on fishing or crabbing experience. Join their captain and crew anytime from April through November and come experience the best of Chesapeake Bay!

You will fish aboard a 42' Provincial powered by a 450 HP Diesel engine. This vessel is fitted with top of the line gear, featuring the likes of Okuma, Shimano, and Penn. Your captain will do his best to have the live bait well full when you arrive. There's room for six passengers on board and children of all ages are welcome.

At the helm is Captain Thomas Hallock, a fifth-generation local fisherman who knows these waters well. He will help you spend your time on Chesapeake Bay fishing for Striped Bass, Bluefish, White Perch, Spanish Mackerel, and more.

Capt. Tom specializes in fishing with light tackle. He will help you land your catch using the most effective method, whether it's jigging, trolling, or drift fishing. You are welcome to keep your catch and he will clean and fillet it for you.

Crab season starts in June, when you are welcome aboard to fish for this delicacy or to enjoy a crab feast on board with your family and friends. Capt. Tom also offers a deluxe trip which includes a seafood lunch or dinner when you return to shore.

Hallock's Grace Charters include a fishing license and all the gear you need. You will find free parking and private restrooms on location.

More Than a Fishing Trip, A Great Day on the Bay

We had an outstanding experience with Hallock’s Grace Charters! The fishing was challenging due to a heavy presence of dolphins pushing the fish around, but Captain Tommy never stopped working to put us on fish. His knowledge of the water, persistence, and determination paid off, and we were able to bring home three beautiful striped bass.

What really made the trip special was the atmosphere on the boat. Captain Tommy kept things fun and engaging with great conversation throughout the day, making the entire experience enjoyable even during the slower stretches. It felt like spending a day on the water with friends rather than just a fishing charter.

A special shoutout to Colby, who was an excellent first mate. He was attentive, hardworking, and always ready to help, making sure everyone had a great time and everything ran smoothly.

If you’re looking for a professional crew, a fun environment, and a captain who will work hard to find fish no matter the conditions, I highly recommend Hallock’s Grace Charters. We can’t wait to come back!

hit the rock fish limit very quickly

Full Day Trip on June 2, 2026 • 3 adults

Both Captain Hollack and first mate Colby are great gus to fish with.  There lifetime of experience helped put us on fish very early within the trip. 
The only down side to the trip was some boat equipment failed which eventually cut our trip shorter than expected, but Captain Hollack discounted our trip because if it.  We would have loved to catch more species after our limit of Rock fish, but with fishing there are never guarantees. Overall we had a great tome and if I am ever back in the Deale/Shady side area, I’d book with these gentlemen in a heartbeat!

Great Time Out, Bad Time of Year

Captain Tommy was great very knowledgeable and knew the fishing well. We had an evening charter and captain Tommy had informed us that they caught fish in the morning but it was hard because of the water being about 10 degrees colder than it usually is this time of year so the baitfish are hard to get. Still ended up going and having a great time not catching fish. Highly recommend captain Tommy and will be booking a trip in the future.

Great Fishing Trip

I have booked two fishing trips with Captain Tom on Hallock's Grace Charters.  Both were excellent trips and everybody had a blast.  I would recommend this boat and captain to anyone that wants to have a great time fishing.

Good Capt. and mate.

Capt. Tom worked hard all day to get us on fish. The wind was howling and waves were rough but he was nonstop working to get us hooked up.  Hard day , but we had more bites than the other boats. We will be going again later this year. Recommend this Boat/Capt!
