You’ll find Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Jack Crevalle, and Broomtail Grouper close to shore. Head a little further out and Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, and Yellowtail Amberjack are the name of the game. And that’s not all! Blue Marlin and Sailfish round off the prized list of species on offer, giving you the chance to land a trophy catch.
The Loreto fishing scene is open 365 days a year, so there’s never a bad time to come and visit. While it is possible to spend a few hours on the water, most captains prefer to spend at least six hours on the water, with the majority of trips lasting a full day. And you should, too! Rules & Regulations
Every angler casting a line out of Loreto will need to purchase a Mexico sportfishing license. Some captains will provide them for everyone on board but, if yours doesn’t, it’s not a hassle to get one. Grab yours online or at the dock before embarking on your charter, and you’ll be fishing within the law.
