If the main goal of your trip is to hook some delicious dinner, Stuart’s nearshore waters are home to a variety of reefs. Located 2–8 miles from shore, you’ll come face-to-gills with the likes of Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, King Mackerel, and Amberjack. A four hour trip is enough time for newbies and families to explore the reefs, whereas hardened anglers can opt for a longer trip to cover more ground.

Stuart is also an inshore fisherman’s paradise. With access to the St. Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon, you’ll have your line in the water within minutes, meaning that even a four hour trip yields plentiful results. These waters are rich with popular Floridian fish, including Snook, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Permit, Flounder, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Bonefish, and Tarpon. Start the year off right with some light tackle action! Winter offers some of the best fishing for Speckled Trout and Redfish inshore. If the weather allows, you might reel in a Wahoo or Sailfish just 10 miles from shore.

February

Many Grouper species are off limits at this time of year, but you can still enjoy catching Cobia, Kingfish, and Amberjack near the reefs. If you head offshore, this is a great time to catch Sailfish and Blackfin Tuna.

March

The fishing inshore continues to look promising, while the action offshore is just heating up. Weather permitting, this could be a great time to go after Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, and Billfish.

April

This time of year is usually when the season for Grouper re-opens, turning nearshore reefs into a real hot spot for charter boats. Mahi Mahi and Kingfish are both at their peak.

May

May is a great time to be on the water in Stuart, whether you’re tackling Tarpon inshore or trolling the Gulf Stream for Tuna, Wahoo, Marlin, and Mahi Mahi. Keep an eye out for upcoming fishing tournaments.

June

If you didn’t make it to the Gulf Stream yet, now is the time. Yellowfin Tuna and Kingfish are still at their peak, while your chances of landing a Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, or Swordfish are still strong.

September

If you’re fishing inshore, this is an ideal time to target Redfish, who will be emerging in greater numbers. Offshore you’re still likely to catch Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, Barracuda, and Mahi Mahi.

With the peak season for Sailfish and Wahoo picking up, there are plenty more tournaments to come, including the Lady Angler Tournament. Meanwhile, inshore fishing is as good as ever.

We fished today with Capt. Patrick and Frank his mate. The ocean was perfect, sun was out. 30 plus miles off shore for daytime swords! Could get one to bite. Packed up and went to the tile fish grounds were we caught plenty to feed our trip at the local restaurant. Before heading in we trolled for Wahoo. Didn't catch but the weather and hard work from the crew made it well worth it. We were out for the full 10 hours and enjoyed ourselves.

We had a great time with Pat and Frank on our trip! Got some great fish and had a couple great fights! The set up and amenities on board were perfect for the day. Definitely going back for a swordfish trip with them when we can get it lined up.

Everything about this trip was amazing. The water was ruff but it didn’t stop us from getting on the fish. Our next trip will be on this boat with the same crew for sure 👍🏼

These guys are really great. Dennis the captain found fish quick for us and kept us on fish for the entire trip. Our first mate Charlie is extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around. Charlie was just as exited as we were when we had a fish on. We boated 6 tuna and a wahoo. Boy what a trip. The boat is a beautiful boat and comfortable to be on. Thank you sooooo much Dennis and Charlie

The crew was awesome. Put us on fish right away. Did some kite fishing which landed all of our black fin tuna .never experienced kite fishing very awesome...highly recommend..
