Sneads Ferry is a charming beach community with a long history of fishing. It boasts a vibrant inshore fishery and offers easy access to the deeper waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Stream. With this in mind, Sneads Ferry fishing charters offer different trips to suit everyone’s taste.
If you set out to explore the local inshore waters, you’ll likely fish for Red Drum, Flounder, Black Drum, Spotted Seatrout, and Bluefish. These trips are a fantastic option when the weather doesn’t allow you to head further out. A half day trip will usually give you enough time to reel in some fish, making inshore fishing great for families with children.
Just a few miles off the beach, the list of targets starts expanding. On nearshore trolling trips, you’ll find King and Spanish Mackerel biting the end of your line. Alternatively, bottom fishing can be a great way to put some Black Seabass, Snapper, Grouper, Grunt, or Porgy in the cooler.
Experienced anglers, however, may want to hop on a full day trip and head into the Gulf Stream. These waters provide a migratory path for some of the most prestigious pelagics out there. Fishing here will take you after Marlin, Bluefin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and more. Often, there’s also the option of deep dropping for Swordfish.

Rules & Regulations
If you’re fishing with a licensed charter captain, you won’t need to worry about getting a fishing license. Otherwise, each angler aged 16 or older will require a North Carolina fishing license whether they’re fishing from a boat, shore, or pier.
