Northern Pike are fast, aggressive predators that thrive across Wisconsin’s lakes and rivers. Anglers come here for steady action, sharp strikes, and real chances at trophy fish.

Most trips focus on casting along weed edges, drop-offs, and river mouths. Guides use spinning gear with spoons, spinnerbaits, and jerkbaits that mimic bait fish. Trolling covers water to find active fish. Fly fishing with large streamers also works when Pike hunt in shallow weeds.

Charter days are simple and fun. Your captain provides rods, tackle, and safety gear, and runs a boat set for both lakes and flowing water. This is great for beginners and kids, yet still exciting for experts. Bring a fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, polarized sunglasses, snacks, and drinks. Expect follows, sudden hits, and strong runs near the net.

Wisconsin offers diverse Pike water from north to south. The Northwoods holds classic clear lakes and flowages around Vilas and Oneida Counties. The Chippewa Flowage and the Wisconsin River system produce consistent action. The Lake Winnebago system and connected rivers offer big-fish potential. Green Bay and nearby bays provide cool-water habitat with weedy flats and marsh edges.

Before you go, check current Wisconsin fishing regulations. Make sure you have the right fishing license, and review any local permit rules. Confirm open seasons, harvest limits, and special area regulations with your captain or the state agency.

Great trip with a special guest!

We had nonstop opportunities to chase our target species, and the action never really let up. Even better were the surprise fights—hooking into bullhead, largemouth, and a northern pike on light panfish gear made every moment exciting. Picked up some great techniques from Captain Dan, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Already looking forward to the next trip.

    Great day on the water!

I told Captain Dan that we wanted to target largemouth bass and pike. He took us right to a great spot. My 11 year old son , who is new to fishing, caught a big bass and 4 northern pike! I even caught a couple of pike myself. It was an epic day! Captain Dan was on time, he is very nice and personable, he was very patient and he put us on the fish! I highly recommend his services. He really knows what he’s doing.

    Nice Captain Good Time

The weather was not ideal but the captain was super nice and accommodating he moved the trip back 2 hours for us so we missed the rain but we had a lot of wind to contend with. He found a good spot for us kept us out of main wind and we caught 6 fish, 3 good size Bass and 3 smaller Northern Pikes. Very nice experience. Would use again
