What anglers say about Wenchman Snapper fishing
- 5.0/5(Half Day Reef (AM) - 8:00 AM)
great 🎣 morning
Cap Jeremy took us to the North end, riding the Cayman shelf. Early bite was strong, we got a dozen or so flying fish on surface & maybe half-dozen from the deep. After, he and Nate cut fillets and reco local restaurant where they cooked our fresh catch. Great central location near Georgetown and reasonable price. definitely would go back. A+.

Captain Jeremy is the best!
My family had a blast fishing with Jeremy on SMB! Pickup and dropoff were super easy and Jeremy was there much earlier to ensure we started on time. We caught several Snapper thanks to Jeremy's extra effort; this guy works hard! He gave my son extra special attention which we all appreciated very much. We'll see you again soon, Jeremy!

we caught fish
would recommend this Captain to anyone. we caught more snapper and trigger fish than we wanted to take off the hook
About Wenchman Snapper fishing
Wenchman Snapper fishing delivers bright, hard-fighting fish from deep water. Anglers prize Wenchman Snapper for clean white fillets and steady action. They often gather in schools and make a great add-on to a deep water trip.
The most common approach is deep dropping and bottom fishing over rocky structure. Deep dropping means fishing very deep water with heavy weights to reach the bottom. Crews use electric or conventional reels with braided line for sensitivity. Multi-hook rigs with squid, cut bait, or shrimp work well. Vertical jigs can also draw fast bites when fish mark mid-water.
Expect a technical but beginner-friendly experience with clear guidance from your crew. Drops can be 300 feet or more, so the reel does much of the lifting. Bites often come in flurries, and doubles are common when fish school up. You may also hook Queen Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, or other deepwater species. Wear sun protection and non-slip shoes. Bring snacks, water, and a light jacket. Most charters provide tackle and bait, but check what’s included. Plan for a cooler if you want fillets after the trip.
Regulations for Wenchman Snapper vary by region and can change during the year. Always check local fishing license and permit rules before you go. Confirm season dates, gear rules, and harvest limits with your captain or local authorities. Follow crew instructions for measuring and icing your catch to stay compliant.
