Golfito Wahoo Fishing Charters

Head out along the Sierpe River on a scenic, 45-minute boat ride down to the river mouth. Once you hit the ocean, you will head around 12 miles out near to the biological once reserve of Caño Island. Here, you can catch Wahoo, Mahi Mahi (peak season for Mahi run from middle of October to beginning of December) , 10 to 15 pounds Yellowfin Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda, Pompano, and more. You can fish troll, jig, and cast on these trips. Price does not include 13% tax.

The adventure starts on the Sierpe River enjoying the beautiful landscape for 45 minutes until you reach the mouth of the river. Have your camera ready for wildlife and nature snaps! Once you reach the ocean, you'll head out 14 miles to Isla del Caño. Here you can capture fish such as Cubera Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Bluefin Trevally, Barracuda, Sea Bass, Grouper, Pampano, and Roosterfish. Included are drinks and fishing gear. Please bring your own snacks and sunscreen.

The half day trip is dedicated to coastal and inshore fishing. The target species are various: Cubera Snapper, Grouper, Roosterfish, and Wahoo are the most wanted. But you can also look for Snook, Barracuda, Pompano, Mackerel, or Amberjack. It's a good opportunity to practice different fishing techniques: trolling, jigging, live bait fishing, popping, spinning, and more. For those reasons, people who want to discover sportfishing will really like this trip!

On this trip, the guests can choose where and how they will fish. Depending on your choice, the captain will tailor the trip to your wishes and bring all the needed fishing gear for the day. Your trip starts at 6:30 a.m. and lasts for 9 hours.

The offshore trip will see you target Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi, and Tuna. Trolling is the best technique for these fish, and the onboard outrigger will greatly increase your chance to catch. Usually, you and the crew will practice catch and release offshore, and then you hook something you want to eat on the way back to Drake Bay. Snapper, Grouper, and Tuna are usually easy to find. Even a beginner can catch a 12 foot 250-pound Marlin, so don't stress about whether you'll make a catch!
