We had some of the worse weather you could ask for and still walked away with one of the of the best memories with our full day fishing trip.  The day started out with large swells but Capt. Luis steered right through them and directly into a storm about 20 miles off the coast.  We braved the wind and rain all day and it was worth it.  We caught lots of yellowfin tuna throughout the entire day and Luis and Douglas made it as fun as you could for such bad weather.  The entire trip, they had smiles on and made sure we were comfortable and safe.  I don’t have any plans to return to Costa Rica but this trip has me dreaming of going back.  I hope to fish with Luis again in the future.  He’s definitely worth fishing with!  I cannot imagine how much fun a clear day would be but I can tell you we had a blast, even in some bad weather. Pura Vida!

We had the best time on our fishing trip — everything from start to finish was above and beyond. The captain and crew were incredibly kind, helpful, and generous. They made us feel so welcome and truly took care of everything.

They had drinks, snacks, and even fresh pineapple waiting for us on board. After we caught some fish, they cleaned and prepped it right there so it could be cooked — such a thoughtful touch.

And of course, the views were absolutely stunning. Being out on the water in Costa Rica, surrounded by that natural beauty, made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

We had today our trip with Luis and Douglas. To keep it short: it was brilliant! To keep it long: it started with 3 caught and 1 lost sailfish during the first half of the day. New species for me and my girlfriend. The crew did a great job. The second half of the day was inshore where I did light tackle casting with hardbaits catching 2 crocodile needlefish, 1 orangesided triggerfish, 1 yellowtail and 1 big eye trevally. Unfortunately I lost a good sized jack, but that is the risk of (my own) light tackle near reefs.
Finally 3 new species for me, great fun and a fantastic day with more than enough to drink and eat. Btw, those sandwiches were the cherry on the cake. Delicious. Thanks guys, that was really Pura Vida for us!

This was our first time fishing in Costa Rica. The whole trip was amazing. We braved some tough weather at the start searching for sailfish. Eventually we wound up in pods of hundreds of dolphins chasing tuna. We landed 3 and had some fun with sailfish- although we weren’t able to get them. It’s all a part of fishing. After we caught our first tuna the first mate sliced it up with some onion and soy sauce for some fresh sashimi. We also had fresh tuna sandwiches prepared for us and plenty of fruit and drinks. Luis and Douglas were great on the boat. They worked hard to make our day incredible. The whole experience felt truly special and traditional. We loved every minute of it. If you are coming to truly fish this is a great charter.

My son loves fishing, so for his birthday he does not ask for things, but for fishing experiences. This was one of them and our first time in Costa Rica. He really wanted to catch a sail fish and he did. Over the moon happy. We had everything that’s needed on the boat. The captain and his crew were very nice and helpful. We don’t speak much Spanish, but captain Louis speaks English, so we had all the basics covered. Food and drinks were enough. Had an awesome day and wouldn’t mind to do it all over again after my hands are less sore from fighting a 70-lb tuna :-)
