What an absolutely incredible day! This was a first-time fishing charter for my dad and my two sons, and it could not have been more perfect. Captain Jimbo and his first mate were phenomenal—not only were they incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging with the boys, but they clearly knew exactly where to go to find the fish. Seeing the excitement on my family’s faces as they hooked into some real action was priceless.

The crew’s energy was infectious, and they worked tirelessly to ensure we had a successful trip. We would absolutely recommend this charter to anyone looking for a top-tier experience in Kona.

Pro-tip for future guests: Make sure you have a plan and check in with the captain regarding the plan for cleaning and keeping fish, as well as discussing any catch-and-release preferences you might have. We have never had much luck fishing and didn’t think that far ahead.

My friend and his son drove up from Sacramento for a day of tuna fishing off the coast of Hawaii! And you know what? We did it five times with this incredible crew! The captain steered the boat precisely to where the fish were. The deckhand did an incredible job ensuring our success. This wasn’t a luxury vacation, but a real man’s fishing trip. The boat and crew were straight out of an Ernest Hemingway book—reliable, precise, and comfortable just for fishing, that’s all! If you love fishing, I highly recommend this boat! But if you’re looking for a luxury vacation, you might want to consider another option! This is man’s, tough, and hard fishing, and I would definitely do it again!

My wife and I took our four young kids on the Konadice with Captain Jim and Sean. They were both great with the kids. One of our kids was scared of the ocean swells and another got a little sea sick. We managed to catch some Tuna and a short billed Marlin which was by far the biggest fish our kids have ever caught.
I would highly recommend Jim and the Konadice if you have a family with younger kids. Although it may not be the newest boat on the ocean, the boat and equipment was operated safely and reliably.

Captain Jim and deckhand sawyer are a very experienced team. They put us on fish right out of the harbor and worked the lines the whole time we were fishing. We caught two Mahi Mahi’s, but it would have been a great experience even if we didn’t catch anything because they were very informative and helpful the whole trip. I would highly recommend this boat to anyone who is looking for a charter. these guys are a top notch hard working crew who will give you the best experience they can offer!

Captain Jim was a wonderful host.  The fish were not biting, even though he and his crew did everything they could to entice them!  We are experienced fishermen and know sometimes there is nothing you can do to will fish into the boat. However, we enjoyed a great day on the ocean and enjoyed the entertainment Carlos the parrot provided. We will give Jim another chance to prove his skill when we return to Kona.
