Save your money and select a half-day of fishing in the morning. 

Fishing Trip - late February 2023

PROS
Boat captain and crew were friendly and helpful.
We were picked up at the hotel at 5:45AM and were on the water by 6:45AM.  The taxi to and from the resort was included. 
We caught 6 very large Mahi-Mahi fish.  Several took 20 mins or more to reel in.
We saw many turtles, pods of dolphins, and humpback whales.
The crew provided fresh fish bait.  It is not necessary to purchase “live” bait.
They had water and some beer on the boat.  If you have more than 4 people that drink beer you will want to pick up more for the trip.  (Also Let the Captain know so they can pick this up for you.)
CONS
We kept traveling farther from the coastline, but it was a waste of time.  Again, we caught all 6 fish in the first couple of hours and were relatively close to the shore.
The boat was very slow.  We spent way too much time coming back.  Again, we caught all the fish within the first couple of hours.
A full 8 -hour day is NOT necessary.  You will only catch fish in the morning. 
The crew wanted to keep all the fish.  You have to insist on keeping some. 
Bottom line
We had a great time and enjoyed the morning.  The afternoon was hot and boring.  The lesson learned - fish a half-day and in the morning.  This was confirmed by many of the locals after our trip.

Note: If you plan to take some of the fish back for the chef at the hotel to cook, make sure you communicate with the hotel staff exactly what you want.  This worked out for us, but only after sorting through some confusion. 

Our family of eight had a fantastic trip with Captain Heri. He and his crew were competent and ran six rods with ease. We enjoyed shade in the air conditioned salon and the marine toilet was very convenient. The boat was clean and well maintained. Each person caught a fish and the highlights were a sailfish and three dorado (mahi mahi). On top of the awesome fishing, we also saw hundreds of dolphins, sea turtles and humpback whales.

Although we didn’t bring in the big one, we caught fish, saw dolphins, turtles, flying fish! Captain Cesar and Jose are great!

Great trip,fantastic crew,and Captain! They definitely know what they’re doing here!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 2 sail fish huge 5 blue tunas, and Mahi Mahi! Worth every cent and more.
