Background: I was raised fishing in Rhodes Island waters, and I have commercially fished RI for 35 years. I have run charters for over 20 years. The ocean is one of my greatest passions . When I was younger, I was a competitive freediver/spearfisherman and US national spearfishing champion. I am fortunate to hold two world records. The world record speared Striped Bass and pole-speared Striped Bass. Spearit also holds the largest Albacore tuna rod&reel Rhode Island state record. If you have no experience fishing, we are happy to help you learn.
Techniques: Jigging as well as sight casting to breaking fish are among my favorite techniques.

Captain and first mate are very educated and well versified in catching many types of fish. Took my crew of guys out with him and put us on fish all day. Even when other boats were struggling. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming out again.

The spear it charter was one of the most eventful days I’ve had fishing in a long time. Non stop action of every species. Bonita, striped bass, blue fish, scup and sea bass made for a day full of fun. Captain Dave was more than accommodating with his knowledge and services. 10/10 would recommend for a day of fun and we will certainly be back!
