We didn’t land the big ones, but everyone brought home fish. Captain Jason did a great job navigate slightly to increasingly rough seas. The deck hand Bud, who is also a captain, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very much a plus having on board. We would have liked to have brought home a monster, but they call it fishing and not catching for a reason. Boat and gear were top notch. We certainly did give it a good try. Totally satisfied with the experience. Out of the six on board, we all had at least one smaller halibut kept, two larger halibut overall for the group, and many rock fish and other fish caught (and some released). It was a good day at sea.

We went out 1 July 2024 with the boat called Yanichka with Caption Timmy and his deckhand Bub.They were awesome. They worked great together and interactived great with us. We saw whales on the way out to fish, that Captain Timmy spotted. Once we started to fish we had our limit of large halibuts and yelloweye rock fish before noon. The largest Halibut in our boat was about 90 pounds and the largest yelloweye rock fish was 12.7 pounds. We moved to the next spot and limited out on black rock fish.  We moved to the third spot and limited out on the chicken halibut 28 inches or less. We had a great time. I would definitely recommend this boat and crew.

My book trip on June 10 was rescheduled to June 13 due to the weather. Captain Paul was our captain that day. We had five on board and headed out to fish for halibut first.  The spot we anchored was not ideal. All that kept biting while in place were dog sharks, and occasionally a ling cod. After a while I suggested we might pull anchor and move to a new location, but was told no we are sticking it out here. Only 4 of us only caught one “under”each.  Next for salmon and only three rods were cast instead of five. It was only whoever got to the rod first kept that catch. One king was caught, one silver was caught, and one rockfish was caught. By the group. The other two guests did not catch anything before we left for rockfish. Rockfish was easy and we all caught our three quickly and then headed back.  As a seasoned fisherman, only walked away with 8 pounds of fillet fish… one “under” halibut and 3 rock fish. 
I had a wonderful charter the day before with Blue Ice Alaskan charters so I’m assuming this was an off situation but disappointing overall.

We set out from Seward with the forecast for a rough morning but easing up in the afternoon. We tried to go out to the fishing ground but the swells were beyond what the other customers could handle. We caught some Pacific Cod and our limit of Halibut. The Halibut were all chickens but we couldn’t get to where the bigger ones were at. On the way in we stopped at a spot where everyone caught our limit of three Black Rock fish each in about 5 minutes. Overall a great day on the water. If I had my way we would have caught larger Halibut but when isn’t that the case. Cap’n Paul and Bub were a very competent and caring charter trip and I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Only went on 5 hour charter. Great Captain Jason very knowledgeable of Resurrection bay history and was able Tom put us through n top of fish we just could make them bite bit we did catch fish some Salmon, Rockfish and Cod and one Halibut but we were fishing a day we could not keep. The Deck Hand Benjamin was spot on helping even before we realized we need help our self. He was great helping my granddaughter 12 catch her first salmon and Cod. Will definitely look at a all day charter next year from Blue I e Charters thank you for the memories
