Book longer as opposed to shorter times! There’s a lot of excitement for first time anglers and you need time to travel to fishing spots and back. That takes away from actual fishing time. Smaller boats move a lot on the sea and can make some people sick or have difficulty standing in the boat to fish. Definitely bring rain gear as there is a lot of surf spray while underway. It was difficult to understand where, exactly, to park and find the captain’s boat. Perhaps add a photo of the dock or a Google map pin point? The address gets you to a parking lot across the street that clearly states NOT FOR BOAT PARKING. So that makes you feel like you’re definitely in the wrong place. Being from out of town and not familiar with the area it took us a while to locate where to drive in, park and ultimately where to meet the captain. He was down on his boat, while I was expecting to meet with him or his first mate on land so we would know where to go.

Make clear to your captain what you were expecting. If you want to catch fish that you can keep and eat, that is very important. We had a good fishing day, catching very large fish, but nothing we could keep because of the size restrictions. We have fished before in the area and have caught and kept numerous fish. Overall fishing in the area is quite good.

I recommend bringing Dramamine if it’s your first time deep sea fishing, and I recommend booking your charter with Captain Larry the process is smooth and he knows what places to take you to to catch fish so no worries about not catching fish

Captain and crew were very knowledgeable professional and friendly. I would recommend them to any angler.

I think June may be a better time to be in Kittery. Less traffic and crowds etc. In addition the fishing might be better too

Fish in sping before the dogfish arrive and Haddok fishing is the best and you can keep one Cod in the spring and if lucky, one Halibut.

Captain Larry was great with our family. He taught us a lot and was very patient.
The water was calm and the bay we fished in was well protected.
