We caught plenty of mackerel quickly for bait fish. The stripers were scarce and quiet along the Plum Island beach on the morning we fished. There was better action at the mouth of the Merrimack River, but also a lot of other boats on hand.

Make sure you dress appropriately. You can always take clothes off. Also you never know fog and mist conditions once your on the water so bring a rain/windbreaker type jacket. That being said be prepared for sun. Doesn't take long on the water to burn. Bring some snacks and hydrating beverages as well as your cocktails. Have fun and enjoy the day on the water if the fish or biting or not. It is what it is nature does what it wants. Cheers

Regarding this Captain... Rick Boudrow Newburyport, United States F/V Emme Fisheries I booked a trip for Sunday, September 4, 2022 back in April, 2022... four full months prior to my fishing trip. One week prior to my trip, this captain (Rick) cancelled it because he said he double booked. I asked why my trip... the first trip booked... got cancelled and not the newest one, but he ignored me. I would not trust this Captain... Rick Boudrow I do recommend Hogg Tide Charters.

September fishing is hit or miss but Captain Paul put us onto some big blue fish and we had a great day of it.
