Book a trip with Captain Kyler Doane! He was so great we went with him again the very next morning after our initial trip! He was so driven to satisfy our desire to catch a big snook that he literally jumped into the cold November waters (without hesitation) to ensure the big snook my wife had hooked would not get tangled up in the nearby docks that it swam under. He waded through the cold water underneath the docks and guided the fish out of the area without losing it and handed the rod back to my wife to continue fighting the fish! It was amazing service and we could not have asked for a better guide. Great personality and energy to spend your day with as well! He was quick to change baits, re-tie lines, catch bait, change spots, help cast, help get lines out of trees, etc. and was ready to assist in any way needed the entire trip. Zero complaints and only praise for this man! Will be setting up another trip the next time we visit Florida's Indian River/East Coast. Best customer service we have experienced in any industry in years. Thank you Kyler for a wonderful experience and we appreciate you and your work!

Use a guide, or at least have a boat to fish the pilings and mangroves. Open water is not as productive.

I was worried that a tropical storm moved through the day before dumping lots of rain. Captain Bill assured me the lake would be fine. He was right. Bring sunscreen, water and lots of bait.

Get a guide that knows where the fish were. I watched other boats that were anchored near us and they weren't catching anything.

Definitely go with Captain Caleb, he knows the area very well and all of the spots where the fish are biting.

Not the “in” season, but still a lot of fun. And a lot less other boats to contend with.

If you want Sheeps head use small hooks, bring a barnacle scraper, and go during a cold front!
