Lake Togo is a well managed lake. The bass were very healthy and the population Is excellent. Even on a very Hot September day without any wind we caught plenty of fish. Watching the eagles and ospreys was fun and encouraging. And all this right here in the Orlando metro.

Get a guide who enjoys what he is doing, has the knowledge of the lake as well as knowing the fish. Having a guide/Captain with a pleasant personality is probably the most important. We were lucky to have one with all of the above

You do want to spend the extra money to purchase the shiners. Can make a difference from a good trip to a excalent trip.

Book with Captain Steve. He knows where the fish are and you won't go home empty handed.

Start early if at all possible. The bite starts at sunrise and fast and furious for 2-3 hours.

Fish when it's a bit cooler. Water was 92. Cool it down 20 degrees and fishing will be a lot better.

Go when the weather is cool, early spring or late fall. You can catch fish when it's hot but you will need to fish with live bait.

Be aware of the wind speeds and weather when on the big lake. Things can go south quick.

Can be very hot, but big fish can be caught with the right captain and positive attitude
