Talk to the Captain before the trip, discuss the best fishing times and best bait for your fishing. Ask about proper attire for the date and time, and what you should and can bring with you like drinks, food or necessities you may require.

I think the fishing is usually better but FL is in the middle of a significant cold spell(57deg) and a front moved through so fishing was very slow. But we had a good time, caught some small bass, a pickerel, and toyed with a baby alligator. My kids enjoyed the trip as a whole.

I would recommend getting a guide. I tried fishing from shore but didn’t catch anything. Our guide Aaron recommended getting some shiners. It turned out to be a great suggestion. It was so much fun….

This time of year is great for fishing the area. Fish are done spawning around this time, so they may not be as active as they would be earlier in the year, however in the early morning hours when the sun is coming up and they’re hungry, not catching anything is nowhere near a concern. Amazing time of year to fish!

We have fished Headwaters Lake - where bass fishing can be frantic. But, Headwaters is catch-and-release ... and I like to eat what I catch. This means you may not catch as many at Kissimmee as Headwaters. But you can keep 5 per fisherman, although only 1 over 16 inches.

Great time to fish. Weather is nice and comfortable so can fish in the morning or in the afternoon or both. I would bring sunscreen, sunglasses and some extra layers to wear in the early morning hours.

If you fish in January bring a wide range of clothes. It was in the 70s and dry on Saturday, then cold and rainy on Sunday. Also, if your Captain says you should buy extra bait, listen to them. If we hadn't bought extra, we may have ran out before we got to one of our best spots of the day.

Don't come with the expectation of catching a monster. You may get lucky but quantity is just as good as quality IMO. May want to consider March for a bass trip in Kissimmee area as this is apparently the spawn season and a shiner drifting over their bed is irresistible. Even a bad day of fishing beats a day at work. ?

Take a lot of shiners, it is a live bait lake. Have fun. Some times Mother Nature changes your plans, but a bad day on a lake is still better than any day at work. (Note) This is the first trip my captain took that he only boated 3 fish.

Contact a guide that knows the Lakes and how to fish for them. This is especially true if you have children that have not had much fishing experience. Really, Captain Jai made it a wonderful trip for my wife and I as well. There is nothing like going to a new area and catching large bass steady for 4 hours.

We were told by our captain the bass was not eatable too much Murcury . As a Kissimmee resident this is the first time I hea this from a fishing guide. If you just want to fish that’s what you will do , no keepers!

Hir Steve Neiomoeller as your guide. Best guise in central florida and Indiana. You wont say, "man I wish i didn't catch this many fish". You'll wish you had another pair of hands to give yours a rest from reeling.

Lake Togo is a well managed lake. The bass were very healthy and the population Is excellent. Even on a very Hot September day without any wind we caught plenty of fish. Watching the eagles and ospreys was fun and encouraging. And all this right here in the Orlando metro.

Get a guide who enjoys what he is doing, has the knowledge of the lake as well as knowing the fish. Having a guide/Captain with a pleasant personality is probably the most important. We were lucky to have one with all of the above

Go on an overcast day with cooler temperatures. A little breeze helps too. When the Sun is out and it gets hot, the big bass aren’t interested in shiners.

Hire a reputable guide because it’s hard to catch fish on your own without upfront knowledge.

It's hot. So you're dealing with the heat and fish, nor humans don't like heat. We caught lots of fish though in a short amount of time.

Take the earliest booking time available, if you're not used to the heat it starts getting very warm around midday. Order plenty of bait.

The winter months are better bass fishing in FL if you are looking for heavy fish. Make sure you consider the heat when booking longer trips.
