Thr trip was amazing.... even though we couldn't keep Chinook at that time of the season, we still really enjoyed our trip. Captain Roy was amazing... snd then some. We will be planning a future trip with him.

A trip like Captain Roy's fishing charter is a great place to start. Gear is supplied, it is easy to get to and Captain Roy in knowledgable. He will also answer other questions, if he can, regarding fishing in BC. His experience as a guide is extensive. My fellow fisher for the day was an experienced Salmon fisherman (rivers) and he was extremely impressed with the charter.

I didn't know it was peak season for salmon when I went, and even though we didn't catch anything, I had a great time out on the water with Roy. You can't expect to catch a bunch of fish every time you go fishing, that's not the point. I made a new friend today, and that's more important.

Probably go in September if you want a wider variety of take-home catch, but the action was really good for us.

Jacket or light raincoat comes in handy. Know that the seals will nab a meal off your hook when around

Bring a cooler or something to put the fresh salmon in when it’s done! Bring sun screen

Go further out, to Vancouver Island, not just in the Harbour of the city. Use bait.
