If you have even the slightest desire to go out on the water to fish, stop thinking and book. Every member of my family had a blast (very different kids). The guide makes all the difference. Worth the drive to Sooke early in the morning!

If you want to catch certain kind of fish, ask captain before you completed your bookings. Each fish has right season, time and tide. So you must discuss what you need to do before you book the schedule. If you are not familiar with fishing just ask captain what you can do while your travel.

If you are an international visitor make sure you allow time to get your fishing licence and make sure you have a printed copy

The Rodfather is definitely the charter fishing boat to go to. These guys are knowledgeable and a lot of fun to talk to. You’ll definitely have a great time.

Good but you have to release wild Coho in August. Would be better to book in September if you want to keep more fish

Weather can't be controlled. We had some strong winds that made it impossible go out deep for halibut. The salmon fishing was as good as could be expected for the weather.

Be ready for trolling style fishing and be prepared for cool weather, in July it is in the 50s and feels even cooler on the water.

Go for t! Well worth the time and money, especially when you might catch the fish of a lifetime like I did.

We had a windy and cloudy day. Not ideal for us. If we choose again, we will choose July and August
