Show up and have fun! August is a great time to head out, the big kings are moving in and make for a really fun outing. For us, 6 out of 20 were better than 20#, the rest were really nice too. We’ve got a full freezer!

Make sure you know where to find your boat - call your captain beforehand to figure this out. Be prepared to decent waves - take you dramina before you go - if you need it. Do not take doubting family members with you - they might not like it. Go for earlier trips - like 5am - the fishing is the best before sunrise. Make it clear to the crew if you don’t want you fish cleaned.

Make sure to dress and layers and have adequate clothing for the trip from rain gear to sunglasses. If you haven't spent time on big water or have issue with car sickness buy dramamine. Better to be groggy than get sea sick

Have packed breakfast, or hit up a gas station. No dining options at 5:30am when you have to meet at the docks at 6am.

Take along something to drink as well as hand wipes if you don't like the smell of fish on your hands. Sunscreen might be a consideration as well as a jacket or sweatshirt for a extra covering.

Jeff Mishler
Get ready for sore forearms. Jeff will look and search to find fish for you. He works well with other charters to get the right baits and locations.

Get more information, it’s not offered so you have to keep asking. Never go on the 10am trip, you would catch almost nothing.

If you dont have a boat and lack the experience, Charter a professional. We went out on Midnight Run Charters; it was excellent, affordable and we caught plenty of fish.

I would recommend using this company and crew. They have everything you need laid out for you ready to go. If your looking for a positive fishing experience these are the guys.

Come at a later date. Captain was not friendly or informative. First mate was nice. We didn't catch any fish

Bring a light jacket
The lake is still very cold, slight breeze can be chilly...

Greg Gill
Bring clothing to handle both warm and slightly colder weather. And bring a good attitude
