Bring plenty of sunscreen and if possible bring a hand towel to wipe your hands when you get fish juice on them! Don't eat a big breakfast before going out, because the head on some boats aren't like what you'd find at a 4-Seasons resort! And if the bite is on, you'll be dead tired by the end of the day!!

The fishing license they make you buy is the biggest scam.. it sucks that they don't include it in with your charter but you have to have it.. it's cheap I think it was 15 bucks a person.. you will see when you get one.. they basically just take your money.. but overall awesome place to fish! Worth the 15 bucks!

we looked for a in-shore boat that provided cover from the sun - Costa Rica is only 8-12 degrees north of the equator the sun is very hot and very bright - bring good sun glasses preferably ones that cover the sides or wrap around -

Sign up for fishing trip with Capt Henry Reyes and First Mate William on the Allin Sportfishing - 28’ Mako. This crew and outfit helped our crew of three first time deep sea anglers haul in a catch of 1 Mahi Mahi, 2 Sailfish, and 2 Red Snapper. It was a great day on the water and an unforgettable experience.

In January, fishing out of Jaco for sails and marlin is usually quite good...especially on the larger boats going out 30-40 miles. But if you are interested in only dinner fish like grouper and snapper, I would recommend just a half-day trip on a smaller boat fishing more inshore.

Full day is best to get out as far as you need to fish for the big fish. Bathe yourself in sunscreen!

Don’t go on day after full moon. Seen some big ones but just weren’t bitting

Wear shorts and flip flops due to wading to dingy to take you to the boat. Be prepared to take fish home with you.

Que MAD MARLIN II es la mejor opción para iniciar la pesca por primera vez...con equipos completos para una buena experiencia de pesca familiar.

Don’t stay in Jacó. Stay in nearby Los Surnos as this is where the fishing charters seem to leave out of.

Always verify the weather, hard winds will cancel your trip so take your time to verify or ask always.

The Predator had a professional and very helpful crew. We felt they knew exactly what to do at all times and we caught 3 sailfish and 4 mahi mahi!! I would highly recommend them to others.

It was a little slow and we were told by the crew that January through April is best. We'll be back next year during that time.
