What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Delray Beach, Florida for the first time?

We are an all around fishing family, but first time trying Florida Peacock bass fishing and the bite was still very good the first week of November 2024. Capt. John of Jurassic Park Fishing Charters was great!! He works hard to put you on the fish and you can tell he loves what he does.

I got this trip for my fiance, Andrew, the day before our wedding... mostly to keep him busy and out of our hair while preparing at my Mom's. Adam took him to Lake Ida which is almost right next to my Mom's house. Andrew couldn't have been more pleased. He caught more fish in the first half hour than he does in the lake at our house -- almost all were Peacock Bass which is what he was hoping to get. Adam was a great conversationalist, was very informative about the lake and it's fish, and Andrew says he will definitely do it again! Thanks, Adam!!!

Fishing is all depending on the weather, last year was on fire, due to warmer weather, this year there has been some cold snaps so the fish weren't as aggressive and plentiful. Still caught a decent amount of fish though

Lake Ida is a very unique fishery, nothing else like it in Florida or anywhere else. Solid Bass fishing, especially Peacock Bass, and the only place that you can catch wild Clown Knife fish. The lake and canals have it all, definitely the best all around lake in all of Florida.

Go with this captain. He a good guy, well prepared, and has a great personality.

Captain Brian is knowledgeable about the fish and the local area. He was so great with the beginner in our group. He taught her to cast and was so patient with any mishaps.

Great fishing all year round. Great for anyone with motion sickness since there are never any waves in the little canals.

February was good for targeting Peacock and Largemouth bass, but there may be better months where certain species are more active.

Great experience, especially for taking out younger fisherman for the first time on a boat to great experience and they’ll catch fish

Usually in Dec I would expect cold, windy with recent frontal passage . None of that this trip. Excellent fishing conditions

Go checkout the boat before your fishing day starts. For good fishing you need to go further south in the winter months

Yes. Biggest Peacocks I've ever caught are in Lake Ida. I've been to Lake Worth, Everglades, and now Lake Ida. I'm coming back here

Matt told me next time I book watch the weather florida fish more active when water is warmer wr still caught fish but that was a good tip

Take plenty of water to drink and wear cool clothing. It does get very hot and heat stoke hits quickly!

Bring some heavier tackle if fishing live bait is not your way. Bring lots of water with some ice. It is florida in summer. Take your first rip with a guide.

If this is your first time to the area, Brian knows which bridges and grass lines hold fish and which don't. That's important as there are miles of canals all around this area. Hire Brian.

Water temperature just becoming ideal starting in February, from what I was told .

It's well sheltered from the wind and very friendly to people who may have motion sickness.

If you get a chance to fish, don't pass it up. Multi species day with dozens of fish landed.

I can not comment on offshore fishing at Delray Beach, but the Lake fishing is great !
